Where It All Started
I started detailing when I was 15, cleaning my neighbors’ cars to make some extra money. At the time, I had no idea it would become a business. I simply enjoyed the work, seeing the difference I could make, and knowing that someone trusted me to take care of their vehicle.
By 16, I was still in high school and working out of my Subaru Forester. I packed in whatever equipment I could fit and took every opportunity to learn. I spent long days improving my skills, reinvesting in better equipment, and figuring out what it took to provide a service people would come back to.
Learning From the Industry
As I continued building Vinny T’s Detail, I also worked part-time for another detailer. That experience allowed me to learn in a professional environment, work on different types of vehicles, and better understand the level of quality and consistency customers expect.
I knew that if I wanted to take detailing seriously, I needed to invest in more than equipment. I needed to invest in my education as well.
Investing in My Skills
I enrolled in professional training with Chad from the polishing school in Rancho Cordova, where I earned my certification and received hands-on instruction in vehicle polishing and ceramic coating application.
Paying for that class was a significant investment for me at the time, but it was an important step. I wanted to understand the proper techniques behind the services I offered instead of relying only on trial and error. The training helped me sharpen my skills, improve the quality of my work, and approach every vehicle with more knowledge and confidence.
From the Forester to a Fully Equipped Van
What started in the back of my Subaru has grown into a fully equipped mobile detailing van. Today, Vinny T’s Detail brings professional car care directly to homes and workplaces throughout Sacramento, Auburn, and the surrounding areas.
Reaching this point did not happen overnight. It came from showing up, continuing to learn, and earning the trust of one customer at a time. Every person who booked with me, recommended my business, or gave me another opportunity to care for their vehicle played a part in helping Vinny T’s Detail grow.
The Setup Changed—My Approach Didn’t
Although the business has grown, I still approach every vehicle with the same care and attention I had when I first started. I take the time to understand what each customer wants, communicate clearly, and give every detail my full effort.
To me, this business is personal. Customers are trusting me with something they worked hard for, and I never take that lightly. My goal is to provide an experience that feels honest, dependable, and worth coming back to.
Still Building
When I look at the van today, I think about where everything started and how much has changed. I’m proud of what Vinny T’s Detail has become, but I know there is much more ahead.
I’m focused on continuing my education, improving my work, expanding the services I can offer, and building a company that people throughout Sacramento and Auburn know they can trust. This business started with a teenager, a Subaru, and a willingness to learn—and that same drive continues to move it forward.
